Accessibility Statement
www.uxd.co.il is the website of Shay Ben-Barak, UXD, a user experience consulting and design practice. I want everyone to be able to use it, including people who browse with a screen reader, a keyboard only, zoom, or a sensitivity to motion.
Conformance
The site was adapted to the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013, and to Israeli Standard IS 5568 at level AA, which is based on WCAG 2.0. It meets most of the requirements, except for the parts listed below under "Parts that are not fully accessible".
What was done
- The whole site can be used with a keyboard, including the menu on narrow screens and the image gallery.
- Links, buttons and images have names and text alternatives that screen readers announce.
- The page language and text direction are marked, as are passages in another language.
- Text contrast meets the standard, and links inside text are also underlined.
- The page can be zoomed in the browser and on phones without losing content.
- Visitors who turn on "reduce motion" in their operating system see the site without animation.
Parts that are not fully accessible
- The rotating headline in the opening area and the background slideshow move with no way to pause them. With "reduce motion" turned on, the headline is shown in full and the background stays still.
- The embedded radio interview on YouTube (in Hebrew) has no transcript on the site. A summary of its topics is in the blog post linked below the video.
- Third-party content, such as the YouTube player and the Google Forms client form, is accessible to the extent its provider allows.

If something on the site is hard to use, or you have a suggestion, I would like to hear about it. Please mention the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you used.
